Dan Metzger is the president of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Kentucky and started his career at Cawood Ledford Productions in Lexington and later worked at Breeders’ Cup Limited for over 10 years. Dan represents TOBA on a number of committees, including the International Grading and Race Planning Advisory Committee, International Cataloging Standards Committee, International Thoroughbred Breeders’ Federation, American Horse Council Racing Committee and the Racing Medication & Testing Consortium. He is also a board member of Blood-Horse LLC and president of TOBA Media Properties. Dan and his wife Julie live in Nicholasville, Ky. and are the parents of three children, Patrick (University of Kentucky 2013), Shane (Transylvania University 2015) and Josie (Bellarmine University 2017).
